Meeting CancelledWe are cancelling this week's October 31 Santa Rosa Sunrise Rotary Regular Meeting due to the Kincade Fire and its repercussions. Many of our members have left the area due to mandatory or voluntary evacuations. In addition, although Franchetti's has power, it has been closed for several days due to a mandatory evacuation and is unsure when the mandatory evacuation will be lifted. They are not allowed to serve restaurant guests while on mandatory evacuation. Next week, November 7, is a Change of Venue to the Veterans Memorial Hall for our annual Veterans Day Tribute. So no meeting at Franchetti's that day. We will pick up again at our regular meeting on Thursday, November 14 at Franchetti's. This is a rough time for all of us, with power out and a large and growing fire just north of us. Here's hoping our brave firefighters will be able to hold the line and keep this fire from population centers, including those where our fellow and sister members work and live. Here's wishing safety to our members, loved ones, neighbors and friends during this emergency. All the best, Marty |
No Meeting On October 10
We are cancelling this week's October 10 Santa Rosa Sunrise Rotary Regular Meeting.
This is due to the planned power outage this evening and the likelihood that power will not be restored until midday on Thursday or later. Gesine at Franchettis has been consulted on this.
See you at the regular meeting on Thursday, October 17.
Here's hoping for the safety of all of us and our loved ones, neighbors and friends during this emergency. All the best, Marty

Amend's Fireside"Fireside" on Sunny Spring Afternoon At the hilltop home of Steve and Kathleen Amend, the clear sky, spectacular view, and grand porch surrounding their custom-built two-story house, provided a leisurely environment for 41 people, including 27 Rotarians on Saturday, April 23, 2016. The hosts served grilled burgers with all the fixings and guests provided salads, side dishes and desserts -- including an Earth Day cake picturing the earth itself, surrounded by lush vegetation. Wide-brimmed beauties: Carmen Taylor, Vicki Lockner and Sharon Wright enjoyed the afternoon while well protected from the radiant sun. |
