Just Wait Until Spring!!

Braving the chilly winter air, Lizzie Colbert proudly poses in front of the newly planted daffodil maze she labored on at Glen Oaks Ranch on Highway 12 in Glen Ellen.

With Sonoma Land Trust guidance, Liz, Rich Randolph, and 4 other community volunteers laid the floral foundation of 1000+ bulbs in multiple concentric circles and colors.

Sonoma Land Trust Steward Taj kneels in preparation of precise placement of over 1000 bulbs in the medallion shaped Spring spectacular.  Sunrise Rotary has another bulb bed to it's credit on site, and it will have to wait a few months and warmer growing season to become apparent.

Community Service Projects such as this and Vicki's Garden at Steele Lane School are part of the sweat equity tradition which engage Sunrise Rotary in civic, educational and stewardship of our amazing Sonoma County.

As luck would have it, the rain waited til the last bulb was underground. If you see Rich and Liz a bit hunched over, it is only temporary.  Warmer weather will thaw and straighten their stance.

Below, Liz takes a look at Leroy Carlenzoli's custom-built pump house that Jennifer Adams and Rich painted last year, also on a cold damp day!
