California Sunrise Dreamin'

“If you don’t have a dream, how you gonna have a dream come true?”

These wise lyrics were first sung in 1949 on Broadway by Bloody Mary in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s South Pacific endearing musical, and reprised in the film version of 1958.

Their inherent truth echoes true still today, and Sunrise President Elect Eloise Tweeten resonated the call for us to awaken our dream for Sunrise Rotary.

Prompting our discussion with a helpful summary of the Club’s areas of giving ~ over $1.2 million over our 28 year run, members brainstormed and envisioned where we would like to focus our emphasis in Eloise’  and several years ahead.  A common theme was being able to have an impact on donees, focusing on a few, rather than spreading our outreach too thin.  Another dilemma dealt with the issue of local versus international support.

Club members raised more questions than were immediately answered.  Eloise succeeded in generating attention to our re$ource allocation$, and concluded the Club Assembly with a “to be continued…..”

No one slumbered during this lively session!!!
