Plastics Challenge

Sunrise and Windsor Rotary have entered a challenge to raise awareness and reduce use of disposable plastics.

Inspired by the documentary "MicroPlastic Madness", Santa Rosa Sunrise and Windsor Rotary are challenging members to count disposable plastic to learn AND apply tips on reducing our waste generation.

One participant (who prefers anonymity) disclosed as many as 80 pieces of plastic waste. "It is everywhere!  In packaging wrap, milk carton tops, prescription containers ~ they count two or three pieces, four with a desiccant.  Uncleanable ziploc bags, produce carry-outs, all add up.

The mere act of accounting for the quantity is itself educational and is intended to call attention to opportunities for better choices.

Send Paul your totals.  No shame or blame.  Anonymity is respected.  We all have room for improvement. Reduction tips will follow, along with our relative standing with Windsor.
