Dr. Christopher Zambakari, Ambassador Scholar
Positive Peace
Dr. Christopher Zambakari, Rotary Peace Fellow and Professor of Business at the University of Arizona, Tempe articulates the dynamics of Positive Peace.
As a child refugee, Christopher grew up in a Sudanese refugee camp. His early schooling was, as he described it, basic, but sound. During those 19 years he grew a perspective between ethics, enterprise and social stability which continues to be his persisting passion.
Positive Peace is much more than the absence of conflict: It is a concept tightly ingrained, supported and measurable within 8 clearly defined socioeconomic metrics referred to as "pillars of peace".
Not coincidentally, these pillars of peace correspond to Rotary's 6 Area's of Focus. Christopher eloquently elucidated the inter-relationships between sustainable, stable society, business, government and local action.
