District Governor's Visit
District Governor Kathy Flamson of the Calistoga Rotary Club brought her message of encouraging Rotarians to become Close-Knit in working together during her official visit to Santa Rosa Sunrise Rotary Club last week.
She honored two club members with “Close-Knit” awards for their efforts within our club: Del Raby, a past district governor, and Jennifer Adams, our president-nominee and the chair of our club service projects.
In addition to her Thursday presentation to our club, Kathy met with our club Board of Directors the evening before to hear of our club goals, plans and activities for the year.
President Marty Behr presented our club’s vision and objectives for 2019-2020 focusing on “Growth and Diversification.” The club’s vision statement is, “Together, our Club members unite and take action to make a difference in our communities and the world …. To grow and diversify our Club membership … and to build relationships while doing it.”
Marty presented goals of increasing our membership from 61 to 65 during the coming year, along with adding more younger members, more women and becoming more diversified. He also discussed plans to have monthly or semi-monthly changes of meeting venues, such as a planned evening meeting at Landmark Winery on Aug. 29th.
