Gerard Nebesky
Gerard's Paella y Tapas Restaurant (and Catering)

Our speaker for February 7, 2019 was Gerard Nebesky, owner of Gerard’s Paella y Tapas Restaurant on Fourth St. in Santa Rosa (the former Arrigoni’s). Gerard grew to love paella back in 2004 while he was taking high country ski trips in Spain.
Paella is a uniquely Spanish rice dish which is combined with saffron and other ingredients, such as, for example, tomatoes, chicken, sausage, rabbit, shrimp, lobster, crab, other seafood, and vegetables of all types.
He now devotes nearly all his professional time to making, selling and promoting paella throughout the United States. He caters parties and events, large and small, often with the rich and famous, runs his restaurant, and travels widely with his custom-made paella pans and unique ingredients.
He seems especially proud of his collection of paella pans made with imported Spanish metals. Paella pans are traditionally shallow-sided to allow for lots of pan-rice contact. Gerard likes Bomba rice grown in Colusa, CA!
Gerard also has some great ideas for Sunrise paella cooking parties! Let’s do it! Great job Gerard – your enthusiasm for this amazing meal in infectious!
