Rotary Dominican Republic Greeting

 

While awaiting my return flight from Miami to San Francisco, a man wearing his Rotary pin caught my attention.  My pin was not visible, as I had given it to our Cuban Tour Guide, in hopes of generating Goodwill, Friendship, and Membership extension.  Fortunately for me, Dominican Republic Rotarian Roberto Ortiz is bi-lingual in English and Spanish.  Roberto was on his way home from the Rotary Zone meeting in San Diego where, as District Governor Elect, had been orienting for his upcoming term.

Energetic, eager to promote Goodwill and Friendship, Roberto extended Betsy and me invitation to visit him and his spouse, and consider inter-District partnerships.  He was interested in our Nicaragua Project.  As we continued on our respective travel, we each were reminded that Rotary is International and the Rotary wheel moves strangers into friends!
