Sunrise Salutes Rolf Wessman!!
Sunrise Rotarian Rolf Wessman surrendered his nearly 9 year struggle with ALS, Lou Gehrig's Disease October 23. During his membership Rolf served as Club Treasurer, chef extrordinaire, Paul Harris Fellow and sponsor to Mike Kelley. Rolf was a member of Rotary in Burlingame, a remarkable host to members and their families, extending hospitality at he and Ann's lovely hillside home and poolside. An avid motorcyclist, pilot and SCUBA diver, Rolf brought zest and a zeal for life to every occasion.
Rolf inspired all he met to be resourceful and learn to adapt. Members and friends gathered at Sunrise hosts Penny and Paul to toast and remember the vitality Rolf demonstrated throughout his life.
Randy Seelye presented Rolf's widow Ann her Paul Harris Fellow as well their daughter Sonja. Sonja, 16 has a scholarship established through Sunrise Rotary.
To the 30 plus friends gathered, the Celebration gave us all a chance to remember and honor a man who embodied all four points of the 4 Way Test, and especially the 5th: Will everyone enjoy each other!
Rolf's legacy of service and determination is indelible!
