The last Sunset Music Series performance was held August 25.  Thank-you to all that came out and supported the Lincoln Rotary as we continue to provide free concerts to the community every July. This year we held two additional concerts in August as the weather didn’t cooperate this year in July. Thank you to Stone House Road for helping us reschedule the original performance that was cancelled due to severe weather!.

On April 25 the Rotary Club of Lincoln set up at the Beamsville's Eco-fest. The Environmental Committee of the Lincoln Rotary attended and gave out Approx. $1200 in free native bushes and trees.

A display was set up and conversations were had with the community around the importance of native plants to the biodiversity of our planet. A great turnout with many other environmental groups present.

The Lincoln Rotary in partnership with the Downtown Bench Beamsville BIA completed the Great Lakes Watershed Cleanup & Downtown Tidy this morning. At 930 am 4 busloads of West Niagara Secondary School (Approx.160 volunteers) arrived at the former BDSS campus. Jacob Beam Public School Grade 7&8, did a cleanup around their school in conjunction with our cleanup. In a one hour cleanup of Beamsville a total of 245.1 Kg of garbage was collected.

On March 24, 2026 we had the honour of Derrick Pont from the Niagara Regional Metis Council join us at our morning meeting.

A major focus of the council is supporting youth through cultural education and hands-on learning. programs for children and teens include family camps, outdoor skills (like canoeing and bush survival), cultural crafts and storytelling. These initiatives help the young build identity, confidence and a strong connection to their heritage.

Derrick's presentation offered a meaningful look at Metis history, rights, and community building efforts - while emphasizing the importance of youth, education, and cultural pride for future generations.

On Tuesday March 24 we had representatives from the 1st. Beamsville Scouts join us at our morning meeting. The Lincoln Rotary presented them with a cheque to help with their fundraising efforts. In June, thirty Scouts and their leaders of the Beamsville Scouts will be travelling to Switzerland for the World Scouting Jamboree.

Join Us April 25 at the Town of Lincoln's Ecofest. Visit the Lincoln Rotary's eco-committee booth for a free native tree and shrub give away to Lincoln residents. Event begins 10am and runs to 1pm. There are a limited quantity of native trees and plants, and they will be given out on a first come, first served basis! Check out all the other booths and fun kid friendly activities provided by the Green Herons, Lincoln Library and Ontariogreen.

Once again, this year the Lincoln Rotary participated in the Coldest Night of the Year - West Niagara on February 28. The Coldest Night of the Year is a family-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger and homelessness. The walk was a great success raising over $91,000 in West Niagara. Lincoln Rotary’s team raised $4970. 

We were joined by the Grimsby Rotary club who volunteered at registration and along the walk route. These walks take place across Canada. There were a total of 96 Rotary teams participating across Canada with 650 walkers and raising a total of $260,637.

Our Lincoln Rotary team ranked 13^th of the 96 teams in total amount of monies raised by Rotary Clubs across Canada. Go team!

The Great Lakes Watershed Cleanup initiative is an effort that has grown from a District 7090 service project covering a small portion of Lake Ontario and Erie to a multi-district plan to focus Rotarians’ attention to all 5 of the Great Lakes and streams and waterways feeding them. The goal of this initiative is to make this the single largest cleanup event ever planned and coinciding with Earth Day on the Great Lakes Watershed. Thousands of Rotary volunteers have agreed to participate.  We will be joining over one billion people worldwide working on projects together in their communities on Earth Day.

On April 21, 2023 the Rotary Club of Lincoln partnered with Downtown Bench Beamsville (BIA) and students from the West Niagara Secondary School, Beamsville Campus and Jacob Beam Elementary School took to downtown Beamsville and did a trash cleanup with a huge impact. The Lincoln Rotary weighed all the trash collected in 1hr. during the #TrashMob with a total of 82.9 kg of trash collected by the students. Thank-you to all the students, teachers and volunteers for making the Lincoln Rotary and Downtown Bench Beamsville Great Lakes Watershed Cleanup such a success. Thank you to our sponsors, Town of Lincoln and Niagara Region for assisting with the cleanup and the final collection of waste and recycling.
