The Rotary Club of Lincoln is pleased to announce that the final delivery of Christmas gifts and gift cards has been completed.
The Rotary Club of Lincoln on November 24 made a decision to commit $10,000 from the Lamplighter production fund and working with Community Care of West Niagara & Village of Hope that we would buy, wrap and deliver gifts for kids and youth in our local community.
The Lamplighter Production team and Rotary Club of Lincoln membership wish to share this Christmas with those in our community that need a helping hand.
The Lamplighter Tour came about in 2003 and has remained as one of Lincoln Rotary’s major fundraisers www.lamplightertour.com that had to be cancelled this year. These funds are usually reserved for the completion of local signature projects such as the Charles Daley Rotary Band Shell at Charles Daley Park and in the last year contributions to Rotary Park in Beamsville and The Legacy Hall at Cave Springs Camp. The club membership and Lamplighter Production team unanimously decided to spend the funds a little differently this year and created the GIFTS FOR KIDS campaign.
Community Care of West Niagara shared that one of their needs was gift cards for youth so the youth could use these to purchase something on their wish list. We responded by providing 100 gift cards all packaged and wrapped with a few treats so they could be distributed by Community Care of West Niagara to youth on their lists. Village of Hope supplied a wish list of gifts for kids and our Rotary elves went out shopped and wrapped a mountain of toys to be distributed by Village of Hope as part of their hamper program
Its Only Christmas When you Share It! has been our theme for the Gift For Kids Campaign.
