The Town of Lincoln held a celebration intended to recognize all community volunteers and Good citizen nominees and thank them for investing their time in the community. The Rotary Club of Lincoln nominated Nancy Simon & Janice Bovine for their work with the Lamplighter Tour Production.
Nancy Simon: one of the over one hundred community volunteers that volunteer with the Lamplighter Tour annually.
For each tour, at least five venues must be secured in the immediate community chosen each year and Nancy has been the coordinator for researching and securing these venues. Nancy's efforts go well beyond the task of procuring venues. Over twelve years , her involvement includes researcher, greeter, writing venue descriptions and more recently, lamplighter guide and script-writer. Lincoln Rotary recognizes Nancy Simon as an extraordinary Lamplighter Tour champion and extends great appreciation for her continuing dedication to the success of the production each year.
Janice Bovine: Over 14 years The Lamplighter Tour has served to bring our community's history to life. At the end of each of the twenty-two tours that happen over a four consecutive day period "Miss Nettie's Tea Room" welcomes guests to relax and reflect on the experience while enjoying a hot beverage and a selection of delicious treats. Since 2010 Janice has shared her passion and skill for baking and has produced hundreds of dozens of cookies and squares to delight Lamplighter throngs. She has been mainstay working behind the scene to serve some 550 Lamplighter guests annually.
