She has been a part of the Rotary Club of Lincoln for 1 year, but was previously a member and past President of Ancaster Rotary AM.
In 2009 Joanne attended the Rotary International Conference in Birmingham, England UK and got to listen to Mia Farrell, a Polio survivor and humanitarian as well as Jane Goodall, speak. She was in awe and inspired by fellow Rotarians!
We asked Jo why she joined Rotary and here is what she said:
"Rotary restored my faith in humanity. Made of selfless individuals working together to support their community and develop international programs, assisting those less fortunate. As a Rotarian my footprint is to leave the world a better place.
Rotary has opened up my eyes to the world and how Rotarians all over the world volunteer and donate funds to make a difference in peoples lives.
Rotary has its finger on the pulse, acknowledging current world issues and uniting Rotarians to offer humanitarian aid.
Along with humanitarian work, Rotary offers fellowship all over the world. I look forward to exploring the cycling fellowship! "
-------------- We are so excited that Joanne is a part of our club! ----------
