On Saturday, Oct 2nd, the Rotary Club of Lincoln participated in the Pedal for Polio. Terry Kotwa, Bob Groh and Andy Fluit represented our Club. The ride started at Lion’s Park in St. Davids. We rode to the downtown NOTL and back. A 30 Kilometer ride. We finished off at the Lion’s park with the Lion’s Club putting on an excellent BBQ.
The event was hosted by Frank Adamson, past District Governor. As of this morning the event has raised $29,774. Donations can be submitted for another week. The donations will be matched by the Gates Foundation. Our club did and outstanding job and raised $800. During the wrap up we learned that there are only three cases of polio left in the world. The vaccinations will continue to assure our eradication efforts are successful.
