He commented coming into the hotel this morning that he remembered staying here the night before he got married…last day of freedom, lol! My wife is amazing and he has 2 children. Dr. Ciccone spoke about the 5 essentials on how our health helps us heal: 1.) Mind set (goals/behaviors), 2.) Brain-nerves-symptoms- disease, 3.) Exercise (building lean muscles and oxygen; 3 x day for minutes we should incorporate some type of exercise), 4.) Cut all sugar and carbs from diet and 5.) Decrease toxic levels in our body. He stated that doctors will refer you to a chiropractor and it may or not be covered by your insurance.  As a country we getting sicker due to the foods we eat, the air we breathe and how we use our bodies.  In conclusion, we all stood up and completed an exercise at 3 reps for 20 seconds. We pretended to punch with our arms back and forth which increased our heart and breathing levels and this is what you should do on a daily basis as anyone can create an extensive or less workout. Based on stress he can take this out of our bodies. Every Saturday @ 9:00 a.m. there is a class his office offers along with a discount he offered to us that morning. Anyone interested in his services he can be reached at 978-368-3330 or at www.cicconechiro.com.

Doug Nadeau Memorial Golf Tournament

Posted by Jennifer Peck on Aug 07, 2013

The Montachusett Area Rotary Club collaborates with Christian Party Rental and Leo Gould for a special golf tournament in memory of Douglas Nadeau on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the Overlook Golf Club in Hollis NH with an 8:30am shotgun scramble.  A donation of $125 per person includes golf fees, cart, gifts and a delicious meal provided by Carrabba’s Italian Grill with the hole-in-one sponsored by Banks Chevrolet.  Proceeds of the tournament will go to The Hope Lodge in Boston MA and The Arc of Opportunity in North Central Massachusetts.

Doug Nadeau was a member of the Montachusett Area Rotary Club for over 20 years, past Executive Director of Matson Community Services now merged with The Arc of Opportunity, and a very dear friend of Leo Gould.  “Doug would do anything for anybody, no matter how long it took him to do,” Leo Gould states.

Doug worked tirelessly as the main liaison for the Montachusett Area Rotary Club Scapparone-Ficarra Memorial Golf Tournament for 9 years that took a one-year hiatus due to Doug’s passing in late 2012 of cancer.  The tournament provided over ¼ million dollars towards The Arc of Opportunity’s Recreation program over the past 25 years.

Leo Gould approached the club to collaborate on his last benefit golf tournament.  Leo’s wife recently won her own battle with cancer and his personal experience with The Hope Lodge in Boston left him wanting to give back to the program for their generous hospitality for people suffering cancer.  The Hope Lodge is a state of the art facility located in Jamaica Plain for people receiving treatments for cancer who live farther than 40 miles from the treatment center.  There is no charge to stay at The Hope Lodge for the patient and their caregiver.

The Montachusett Area Rotary and Christian Party Rental are currently looking for event sponsors and registrations for golfers.  For more information, to sponsor the tournament, or register as a golfer contact:  Joan Ficarra at 978-549-1455, Leo Gould at 603-759-3846, or John Sbrogna at 508-890-6212.  Image

Laws of Life is a essay contest for high school students. Our own Nick Storrs introduced this program to the area in 2007 and has chaired the event along with FHS teacher Dick Vaughn since it's inception. Almost 2,000 essays have been introduced into competition since this event began 4 years ago and this year 730 essays were submitted. Cash prizes and recognition was given to 42 freshmen, sophmore, junior & student students from the Fitchburg Area Schools. The top cash prize of $1,000 was awarded to a senior from Fitchburg high School, $500 to a junior, $300 to a sophmore and $200 to a freshman.

Along with Nick Storrs Monty Broc was represented by President Rick Vallee & Doug Nadeau.

This annual January event brings together Monty Broc members to celebrate the Holiday season. As usual a gift swap of "previous gifted" items was held. Many great items were seen & many of them will most likely be seen again at next year's Holiday Party. One gift we are sure we will see again was a $50.00 gift card to CircuitCity.

Our thanks go out to Seth Firmani and Tom Tarara for doing a great job, as usual, in organizing this event.at the Townsend Ridge Country Club.Tom Tarara was suprised when Jack Dube and Jim Fusco presented him with a Paul Harris Fellow compliments of the Monty Broc Rotary Club.

If you didn't attend the party then you missed a great event!!!!!!!!!!
