President Leslie stated she loves the theme this year, “Be a Gift to the World” and promotes others to share what they are doing outside our club as Rotarians. She is handing out envelopes to everyone that have missed the past couple of meetings to show them the project we are doing. Read thank you letter from Cleghorn Center, RI celebrates Joan and John (bronze level) with new membership pins and we recited the 4-way test.
Lynne introduced Andrew and Gladys our 2 RYLA students this morning.  They spoke about their experiences from Worcester State University from June 27th weekend. They didn’t know what to expect when they 1st went there but enjoyed the weekend so much. It was very welcoming…actually Andrew wants to go back next year as a coordinator. About 550 people were there with so many activities to do that they wished it was longer. They shared how they played literary baseball, rock wall climbing, low ropes, etc. along with different seminars. They both learned to be a better leader, practiced their public speaking, listening, communicating, respecting others feelings, working together as a group. They also shared their experience with the Reality program they both attended as well. Great to heat their feedback!

President Leslie introduced AG Bharti Bhakta who joined us this morning to share with our club along with other clubs in the district her and DG Jim’s goals for the year. She introduced DG Jim who she has known since 2006 and is very thankful for Karen introducing her into the Fitchburg club. He commented he has 15 AG working for him along many committees and many clubs to visit throughout the year. DG Jim shared his trips around the world such as San Diego and Brazil in preparing for the DG position. Jim read a message to us from RI President to all the DG’s being installed this year. DG Jim’s high priorities are public relation, Foundation and Membership…those are his 3 main focuses this year. He also commented on the Membership Forum which will take place in October, wants all clubs to hold a 1 million dollar meal, hold Purple Pinky day, have a weekly newsletter and don’t forget the District Conference in Plymouth May 20-22 in 2016. His motto, “it takes someone to….” And you fill in the blanks. DG Jim feels very fortunate that Nick Storrs sponsored him into Rotary and that Doug Nadeau nominated him for DG because he wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for them. In closing, he showed that he was wearing sneakers this morning with his suit…can you guess why? Because he will be running all over District 7910 for the next year promoting his goals working very closely with all of us to achieve our theme this year, “Be a gift to the World!”

Meeting adjourned at 8:31 a.m.
