5/11/15:
President John introduced Paul LaClare who is an Actuary and has been at BayState Financial for 3 ½ years. An actuary is a business professional who analyzes the financial consequences of risk. Actuaries use mathematics, statistics and financial theory to study uncertain future events, especially those of concern to insurance and pension programs. He educates his clients about life insurance, went over with us “what is a contract?”…the cost, benefits, the in’s and out’s of them, etc. Paul loves numbers so his major was Math. He told us the numerous extensive testing/exams he had to take which took him 11 years…overall 25 exams which can range from 8-10 hours each. Very interesting…thanks, Paul!
