DG Jim had food/foundation $’s, had $ for looking forward to TMOTTBG night and thank you Cheryl Owoc for a good time at her meeting!

Michelle had food $’s, had a forgetful $ as she left the house with no mascara on…lol! Thank you $ to all who contributed and hands on deck for TMOTTBG event, sign up for District Conference as last week was the last day for discounts, had a fantastic weekend and commented on during her singing she thought of Mickey and the Yankees!

Ali had food/foundation $’s and had $ for bake sale she was having at work to benefit Relay for Life event.

Maila had food/foundation $’s…

Jay had food $’s….

Jim H. had food/foundation $’s and gave tidbit from Rotary magazine that the median price of a home is $103,000!

Mickey had a happy $ that he made a final commitment to be back in the club again!

Rick had a wicked late $ and excited $ that Shari is doing chili for the event!

Cheryl had a happy $ that DG Jim came to her meeting last week, commented that if you pass around a bigger bucket you will get more $ as she witnessed this for her diabetes collection and sad $ b’c Mom is in rehab!

Jeanie had food $’s and commented on a FB tribute for her husband from one of her son’s high school friends which was about a special relationship father/son they had and his friend valued that!

Mike Gale had food $’s and foundation $’s will be coming to him soon now that he will be a member!

Lynn had a RYLA $ update as she drove out to Chelmsford to drop off final applications…1 of the students backed out but had a replacement. Had a thumb $ story - may need surgery on it and had foundation $’s!

Ellen had food $ and so glad co-worker joined them this morning as a speaker!

We had Ellen Gale introduced our speaker, Lorna Stone – Director of Marketing/Admissions at Heywood Wakefield Commons; an assisted living residence. Lorna has been with them for over a year now and has 18 years experience in this field. She gave a power point presentation of the Gardner facility, along with books at each table full of pictures of the events there with the staff and residences. They turned the Gardner location from an old furniture building to a new renovated building still exposing the pipes in the high ceilings to keep the historical look. The Grantham Group are also managers of Christopher Heights Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing Rehabilitation which are both located in Worcester, Webster, Marlboro, Attleboro and Northampton.

In Gardner they have 78 residential apartments throughout 4 floors of the 60,000 square foot building with 9 wheelchair accessible apartments and 2 two-bedroom apartments ranging all from 400-800 square feet. Assisted living is designed for seniors who can no longer live alone, but are not ready for a nursing home. They have common areas such as dining room, media room, outdoor courtyard, pub/coffee shop, wellness room, beauty salon, country kitchen, whirlpool room and laundry rooms on 3 floors, etc. They also have services which are included in the rent such as personal care assistance, 24/7 staffing, safety checks, 3 chef-prepared meals daily, activities 7 days a week, housekeeping and laundry weekly, on-site maintenance, medication reminders and social worker on staff.
