Jay had food $’s and foundation $’s and commented on granddaughter having RN and BSN after her name and she is deciding right now if she is going to Universal Studios or Disney…!
Nick had food $’s and foundation $’s and glad to be here…
Ali had food $’s and foundation $’s and glad it’s Jeopardy college week again b’c she doesn’t feel as dumb…lol!
John S. had a happy $ b’c out DG is on a cruise right now and 70 people have signed up already for the District Conference which is a record breaking!
Rick had food $’s, and glad he went out with John last night for a drink and commented Superbowl brunch was good and Shari won $300 on a pool!
Michelle had food $’s, getting happier b’c vacation is coming up, Tony and I have been going around to different clubs promoting District Conference  and our club is the best! She gave update on water project and will send out Bonga blob!
Sarah had happy $ to be back b’c she missed the past couple of weeks!
Deb had sad news but is thinking positive thoughts right now!

Ellen had food $’s and foundation $’s and wished everyone a Happy Chinese New Year…it is the year of the monkey!
Jeanie had food $’s, learned on FB that if you have wires on your car and you trying to get out of car you cannot touch frame of car you have to crawl through the window and jump with both feet in ground and shuffle away keeping feet on ground so it doesn’t carry through to you.
Jen had Foundation $’s, MIA on speaker will call Mickey to touch base to make sure he is alright, took a sprint certification and got it…so now she will training for a year to be a yoga instructor! Good Luck and congrats!
President Leslie had food $’s, Christine finally welcome Nicholas into the world, went to A&B for her tires they were great, Mom and I saw a great speaker at Health Alliance – best speaker they have heard….motto: Short people can’t stand up but they can stand out!
 
Deb pulled ticket #882 and Michelle was the lucky winner who pulled a “queen” for $1.00…Congrats!!
 
Keep in mind:
  • Don’t forget you can do e-make-ups – http://rotaryeclubone.org/. You MUST report make-ups to President Leslie to get credit.
  • Everyone was given a blank TMOTTBG mailing list so you can invite people you know, business owners, etc.
  • Handed out the new Slate of Officers for 2016-17. We need to focus on membership, need more classifications.

  • 4/29/16 – TTMOTTBG @ the Arc, more info to come…for the month of February we need collection for kitchen items, March-Barbecue items and April-Gardening. Please bring in items so we can have 3 baskets for this event! Looking for sponsors and name mailing list to invite people.
  • 5/14/16 – Apple Blossom Festival @ Sholan Farms BUT we are not doing fried dough this year due to the District Conference the following weekend. We will have an information booth that day up there.
  • May 20th, 21st and 22nd 2016– District Conference, Plymouth Ma. We will be hosting a hospitality “sweet” the theme this year is “Plymouth Rocks!” Early registration deadline is 2/13!

    We had Ron Bott who is PP in the Concord club and has been in Rotary for 20 years come speak to us about Interact and Rotaract. He has started 2 interact clubs so far and in our district we have 16 of these clubs. The 1st interact club was started in Melbourne, FL in 1962. The Stop Hunger event we had at Nashoba Valley High School a lot of students were interested in forming a interact club. You really need a champion to make this happen such as a principal or advisor of a school b’c they are the key elements.
  • We had Jen Peck introduced Phil Decirio from Karen’s Closet who we donated some of our food $’s from 2015 in our weekly collection. There are 330 homeless children in the school system with 50% qualifying for school lunch and 1 school that has at least 65% of these children that do qualify. The #1 request they receive is that there is a high need for is socks and underwear. Kids rather be at school then at home because they rely on food, social interaction and learning. Karen’s Closet was introduced 5 years ago when his own daughter passed away and the tradition was to buy coats for kids during the winter and suddenly the need has expanded as he couldn’t believe how many children in Leominster that are in need. There is a fund that buys clothes however if children do not have money to go to the prom tickets will be bought for them, if school supplies are needed, science camps or trip to Washington, D.C. they will help out the kids. Last year 250 sneakers were bought and over $65,000 of clothing merchandise thru Macy’s was purchased at discount for Karen’s Closet. This need will never go away as they hold a few fundraisers throughout the year and are always looking for sponsors to build the foundation to carry on. So glad we were able to help this need cause from our weekly collection…what an eye opener! Thanks, Phil!
