Tony brought in his own peanut butter b’c last week there wasn’t any but this week we had some…thanks, Joanne!

Deb had food $’s, had a happy $ b’c Brian is getting married this weekend – her son is an honorary member since the age of 10 years old, looking forward to a great wedding and she is collecting stuffed animals for HealthAlliance or if you want to give $ that is fine as well.

Joanne had a happy $ to be here and had food/Foundation $’s.

Rick had a happy $ to be here with all of us and a $ for a great tournament!

Christina had a late $ b’c of the solar glare which slowed her down, had food $’s and had great time golfing with Jim H. at the golf tournament!

Nick had food/Foundation $’s and they are looking forward engagement party on Saturday!

Ali had food/Foundation $’s, had good time handing out the dictionaries with Joan and after this morning they are visiting another school.

DG Jim F. had food/Foundation $’s, had happy/sad $ that the grandkids came up and now they are home, missed some club events but schedule has loosened up…sorry, won’t be able to make John/Nick’s day!

Joan had food $’s, was freezing at the golf tournament but it was successful, went to Fallbrook school with Tony and Ali for the dictionaries and will be going to JR Briggs school this morning, sorry will be missing John/Nick’s event b’c she will be here at the Doubletree for her high reunion! Thanks, Joanne & Nick for everything…

Nancy had food/Foundation $’s, enjoy LaPointe family this weekend for the wedding and here’s to John/Nick’s day, too!

Michelle had food $’s, had wonderful time with their British friends as they went to Mt. Washington which was a clear, beautiful day and here’s to Deb and her family and to John and Nick!

Jay had food $’s and commented that he had to hold on in the golf cart with all the bumps while putting up the golf signs…haha!

Jim H. had a great time playing his 4^th ball and it went very well at the golf tournament, had Foundation $’s and gave a Foundation moment!

Sett had food/Foundation $’s, and keep grandson in thoughts and prayers due to an illness he is being treated for!

Ellen had sad $ b’c she missed fried dough and golf tournament events b’c she hasn’t been feeling well and her son made an appointment for her to help her through this and had Foundation $’s.

Jeannie had food $’s, just ate a bacon/cheddar omelet-very good! Had $ b’c Leslie will be back tonight, it’s been lovely covering for her but she owes her due to the move b’c she basically did everything and commented Leslie went to the San Diego zoo and had the time of her life!

Maila had food/Foundation $’s and great time at the golf tournament but it was very cold! Thank goodness I texted Leslie the night before to wear winter gear..lol!

PE Jen had a happy $ for everyone that came out that day to help out, great time even though it was cold, commented the bump on her head and almost falling out of cart when she was going around too! Keep Owen’s Dad in your prayers as he is not doing well, glad Jane is here and had food $’s!

Tony had an apology $ for missing our guest and will be going to his 45^th school reunion!

Jane had 2 happy $’s wherever it needs to go…

 

Jane, our guest pulled ticket #192 and Jen Peck was the lucky winner who pulled a “ten” for $10.00…Congrats!!

 

We had Jen Peck introduce Jane Severens, Program Case Manager at the Elizabeth House in Fitchburg.  She thanked us for having her here this morning. This is a transitional housing for women in recovery. They have 3 other programs they serve The Emergency/Transitional shelter on Lunenburg St, The Leighton Street house which is a permanent housing for homeless men in recovery in Fitchburg and The Transitions at Devens for housing homeless families. Incorporated in 1983, Our Father's House (OFH) has proven longevity as a nonprofit with a successful track record in assisting homeless individuals and families in Northern Worcester County.  A founding group of dedicated individuals worked tirelessly to purchase a city-owned property from the City of Fitchburg and then renovated the structure to become the first homeless emergency shelter in North Worcester County. OFH has grown from "a shelter of last resort" which provided a bed and a meal, to an agency that offers comprehensive case management services to the homeless. Although the Emergency Shelter Program is partially funded by the Department of Housing and Community Development, our fundraising efforts are critical and ongoing to keep the Shelter operating. The government funding does not cover any capital expenditures, such as repairs/maintenance, renovations, nor the entirety of some operating costs such as food, electricity, heat and any administrative expenses. The bulk of our share of costs is paid through an Annual Fund Drive, conducted by the Board of Directors, each September. Last year, we provided shelter and transitional housing to approximately a combined total of 950 individuals and families.

Jane herself has been in recovery for 20 years so she understands what these women are going through on a day-to-day basis.  It is a learning curve and a great opportunity to work with Our Father’s House to educate these women on book smarts, repairing bridges, etc. because the journey is hard and can be very manipulating if you are good at it to hide your addiction.
