The evening satellite meetings together with the morning satellite meetings provide a forum at which members may discuss all things Rotary or community. Sometimes there is a speaker but usually, the agenda is determined in real-time for topics members wish to discuss or ideas they wish for which they wish to receive feedback. Meetings are especially useful for Red Badge members to get to know other members. Proof of vaccination and masks are no longer requiried. Dinners or refreshments may be ordered at the Courtyard counter and delivered to the room. These meetings are in-person only, no zoom. Please register on the Rotary ClubRunner site or email me - roylave@aol.com.. |

Sabeer Bhatia briefly worked for Apple Computer (as a hardware engineer) and Firepower Systems Inc. He, along with his colleague Jack Smith, set up Hotmail on 4 July 1996, American Independence Day, symbolizing "freedom" from ISP-based e-mail and the ability to access a user's inbox from anywhere in the world.[5] As president and CEO, Bhatia led Hotmail until its eventual acquisition by Microsoft in 1998 for an estimated $400 million. Bhatia worked at Microsoft for one year after the Hotmail acquisition and in April 1999, left Microsoft to start another venture, Arzoo Inc, an e-commerce firm with investment from Mohammed Asif, a top Indian-American banker at JP Morgan.[citation needed] Bhatia started a free messaging service called JaxtrSMS. He said that JaxtrSMS would do to SMS what Hotmail did for e-mail. Claiming it to be a disruptive technology, he says that the operators will lose revenue on the reduction in number of SMSes on their network but will benefit from the data plan that the user has to buy.[6] To date, JaxtrSMS service has failed to replicate the success of Hotmail. Recently[when?], he invested in email collaboration software, ccZen and another e-commerce technology provider E-junkie. |

![]() Dance Performance + Q&A
Sep 15, 2022
Tais started her dance career in Ukraine as well. Her first encounter with performance sports was upon being accepted to an Olympic rhythmic gymnastics school. At 6, she made the switch to Ballroom dance and has been in the dance business ever since. The turning point in her career was upon moving to the USA in 2014 - she started working with Dima and Olga Sukachov, who are well known master coaches in the ballroom circles. Currently Tais also works with kids on the way to a professional dance career, although she gives back to her community with involvement at Arete Dance Center. Although she is a strictly ballroom instructor, she stays curious about other forms of movement.
Arthur was born and raised in the Ukraine, where he grew up competing in ballroom dancing nationally and internationally since the age of 5. His titles include Blackpool China Rising star Champion, Ukrainian ballroom champion, USA national Finalist, and others. Arthur holds a college degree in kinesthetics and dance coaching, he also holds a degree in kinesthetic and dance coaching. In 2017 dance brought him to the US, where he has been dancing and teaching since.
As a team, Arthur and Tais currently reside in California and travel across the country every few weeks to compete at the most prestigious competitions in the country. They are currently top-5 in the Amateur Ballroom category in the USA, and plan on international debut soon. But when they are not training at their dance studio, you can find them visiting the local shops in downtown Los Altos.

Hi Rotarians!! Happy 2022!!
It is a New Year and a new chance to join our super fun Game Night Group. We gather once a month, now on the Third Monday of the Month, at 7:00 pm to have a game night over Zoom.
We usually play Fibbage, a crazy fun game where we compete with each other over our cell phones, or Online Scattergories. Also superfun!!! We would love to have you join us. Contact me by phone (650) 924-8365 or email me at cindy.ogorman@compass.com if you would like to join us and I will send you the Zoom link.
Family members and friends are always welcome to join us also. Cindy
