How to Join the Los Altos Rotary Club

Why Join the Rotary Club of Los Altos details the benefits of membership. The Rotary Club of Los Altos (LARC) looks for adult new members with integrity and good standing professionally and in the community.

Members are typically:

  • Partners, corporate officers, proprietors, branch representatives, or managers of a business or profession; and/or
  • People who have established themselves as community volunteers and/or leaders of community non-profit organizations; and/or
  • Retired, but previously did one or more of the above.

The business or residence of a member must be/have been in the territory of our Club or of a closely neighboring Club.

LARC Members responsibilities and Club expectations:

Rotary clubs include people of action. Club members are expected to be active in club activities, committees, and/or leadership.

Responsibilities and expectations include:

  • Participate in local and/or international activities or projects of the club.
  • As much as possible, attend the weekly Thursday club meetings.
  • Participate in club committees or service projects
  • Volunteer at the club’s major fundraiser, the annual Fine Art in the Park show, held in August
  • Ideally volunteer for leadership or committee roles in the club
  • Pay annual dues and fees to the club

Becoming a Member:
To become a member, you ideally will know an existing LARC member who can “sponsor” you.  This sponsor will invite you to three Thursday meetings so you can learn about the club, its members, and Rotary overall.

If you do NOT know an existing club member, please contact the Membership Director at membership@losaltosrotary.org . They will welcome you to a meeting and answer any questions you may have about the club and membership.

Too Busy for Thursday Meetings?
If your professional schedule or work location and/or your family life limit your ability to participate in the club’s Thursday lunchtime meetings, you can alternatively join the Rotary Satellite Club. This club functions under the umbrella of LARC but operates with greater autonomy—offering alternate meeting times, formats, and projects to meet the needs of busy members.

Since its founding in 2024, the Los Altos Rotary Satellite Club has grown into a vibrant group of Rotarians who are committed to service above self—while redefining how Rotary can work in the modern world. Find out more on the Satellite Club page.
