COMMUNITY GRANTS

Community Grants are funded by Los Altos Rotary Endowment Fund (LAREF), a nonprofit of the Los Altos Rotary Club.  Grants are given out twice a year, with application deadlines of October 1st and April 1st.  Notification of grant awards is typically mid-November and mid-May.

LAREF Community Grants are focused on supporting our local communities.  Grants will be evaluated based on the following guidelines:

  1. Applicant must be a charitable, educational, and other nonprofit organizations that is tax-exempt.
  2. Preference is for organizations (or specific projects) serving our local communities.  Grants are not given for organizations (or specific projects) outside of Santa Clara or San Mateo Counties.
  3. The grant should start or complete a specific project or activity with a defined goal.
  4. The recipient will provide a brief grant report to LAREF after the funds have been used for the purposes set forth in the Grant Application and the grant approval letter.
  5. No grant will directly benefit individual member(s) of the organization receiving the funds.
  6. Beneficiary will not use the funds to advocate any sectarian or political viewpoint.
  7. See the LAREF grant application to apply.
