COMMUNITY GRANTS
Community Grants are funded by Los Altos Rotary Endowment Fund (LAREF), a nonprofit of the Los Altos Rotary Club. Grants are given out twice a year, with application deadlines of October 1st and April 1st. Notification of grant awards is typically mid-November and mid-May.
LAREF Community Grants are focused on supporting our local communities. Grants will be evaluated based on the following guidelines:
- Applicant must be a charitable, educational, and other nonprofit organizations that is tax-exempt.
- Preference is for organizations (or specific projects) serving our local communities. Grants are not given for organizations (or specific projects) outside of Santa Clara or San Mateo Counties.
- The grant should start or complete a specific project or activity with a defined goal.
- The recipient will provide a brief grant report to LAREF after the funds have been used for the purposes set forth in the Grant Application and the grant approval letter.
- No grant will directly benefit individual member(s) of the organization receiving the funds.
- Beneficiary will not use the funds to advocate any sectarian or political viewpoint.
