A great time was had by all who attended the clubs annual seniors corn roast on the grounds of  Rotary Garden Court.   Local seniors are treated to a BBQ ,amazing local corn,and deserts, all compliments of the club along with a draw for dozens of door prizes.  Anywhere from 80-100  usually attend and the club members have as much fun as the seniors do.

At our August 18th meeting club member Joe Kichler presented our outgoing exchange student Samantha Brown with club banners to give to the Rotary club in France that will be hosting her.. Will be an exciting  10 months for "Sam"

Honourary Member, Dorothy Weeks and daughter Dianne present Cheque to Arlene Neemeyer and Marcel Knot with Rick Ludwig, Treasurer, Nick Brown, Fundraising Chairman and President, Garry Flood, savouring the moment.  The Rotary Club of Waterdown is making the donation in memory of Charter Member, Ernie Weeks, who passed away in December at the age of 102 years. The money will go towards finishing one of the public meeting rooms which will be named after Ernie Weeks.

Mild weather, spectacular floats, enthusiastic performers and lots of music made 2013's Parade the Best Ever.  The Waterdown Rotary Club and the Flamborough AM Club once again teamed up to man the Antique Fire Truck in support of the Rotary Children's Fund.  Thanks to Walter Wellenreiter and family, Kelly and Lucas, Neale and Tristan Mayo, Zachary and Darren Foster, Pat and Frank Keelen, and faithful Driver Keith Green from the Dundas Club.  A very Merry and Melodious Crew!

About 70 people showed up for the event at Rotary Garden Court despite dire warnings of Thunderstorms.

Rotary Club of Waterdown responded to an urgent request from Flamborough Food Bank who were extremely low on donations by holding a food drive in co-operation with Fortinos at their Waterdown store..Long time Rotarian Pat McNally accepts one of many donations from a shopper.

Outgoing 2013-14 president Garry Flood welcomes incoming 2014-15 club president Kathy Harsasyn to the position.  She then introduced the directors of the new board and proceeded to outline the clubs goals for the next 12 months.

The Rotary Club of Waterdown is very please to sponsor our first Robbie Burns Dinner & Dance on Friday, January 22, 2010 at St. Thomas Parish Hall. 715 Centre Rd. Waterdown.  Doors open at 6:30 for reception, cash bar, silent auction & mingling.  Dinner will be "Piped in" at 7:30.

The Rotary Club of Waterdown is holding an "If I had a thousand dollars" campaign to encourage local groups and individuals to submit proposals for grants of up to $1,000.

 

Please consider what use you could make of a $1,000 grant and submit an application.  The guidelines and application form are enclosed and the deadline for applying is Thursday May 27 at 5:00 p.m.

On Thursday March 12, fourteen members of the community attended a meeting organized by the Rotary Club of Waterdown to learn more about graffiti in our community.  The meeting was addressed by Alex Moroz and Dan Rodrigues from the City of Hamilton and by Sgt. Mike Senchyshak of the Hamilton Police.
