Rotary Club of Waterdown is taking on a new mission boost local seniors this holiday season.
Operation Christmas Cheer will deliver a note and a sweet treat to local seniors who may be on their own over the holidays.
The club is seeking community support for this initiative, in the form of donated materials. Anyone who has unused Christmas cards left over from packs purchased in previous years is welcome to drop them off at the Rotary booth at the WATERDOWN FARMERS’ MARKET on Saturday, Oct. 17 (8 a.m. to 1 p.m.) or at JITTERBUG CAFÉ, 35 Main Street N., Waterdown, from October 15-Nov. 7 (any time during operating hours).
Rotary volunteers will add a short note to each card, along with a candy cane. The cards will be distributed to local retirement homes and other seniors in the community who could use some holiday cheer this Christmas season.
For more information or to suggest a local group, seniors’ home or individual who would like to receive a card this holiday season, email: waterdownrotary@gmail.com.
