Working Together on Graffiti

On Thursday March 12, fourteen members of the community attended a meeting organized by the Rotary Club of Waterdown to learn more about graffiti in our community.  The meeting was addressed by Alex Moroz and Dan Rodrigues from the City of Hamilton and by Sgt. Mike Senchyshak of the Hamilton Police.

 

 

 

The people in attendance, representing the Rotary Club of Waterdown, Rotary Club of Flamborough AM, Waterdown Lions, Waterdown BIA and Flamborough Chamber of Commerce, expect to meet again to find a way to work together on the graffiti issue in Waterdown, which appears to be a growing problem.

 

If you see somebody painting graffiti:

«      call 911

 

If you notice graffiti:

«      phone the City (905-546-2489) and describe the graffiti and its location

«      also phone the police (905-546-4930) and report the graffiti

 

The City of Hamilton's bylaw requires graffiti to be removed by the property owner within 19 days.  If the graffiti is on City property, the City will remove it.  If  the graffiti is on other people's property, the City will issue them with a warning to remove it in 19 days or the City will remove it and charge the property owner.
