If you’ve got a great idea for a new community initiative, we want to hear from you!
We are now accepting applications for our Community Grant Program, which provides monetary support of up to $1,000 for projects that help bring the community together. Individuals or non-profit groups based in Waterdown or nearby Flamborough communities can apply, and the project must aim to strengthen the fabric of the local community.
Organizations that already receive government or United Way funding are not eligible for the grant. Otherwise, the guidelines are pretty simple: we will consider any idea - no matter how small - particularly if it is something new and will have a positive impact.
The club ran the “If I Had $1,000” program in previous years; the new campaign follows the same format, but it’s been expanded to encourage a wider range of project submissions. Past projects that received grants ranged from running a cooking class for young adults to a “pay it forward” day at a local coffee shop.
The Community Grant Program will accept applications until May 31, 2026; the club will review all applications and may choose more than one, depending on the number of submissions and the amounts requested.
