11th Annual Saamis Rotary Environmental Waste RoundupThank you Medicine Hat for your support in making our 11th Annual Environmental Waste Roundup a Success! We collected many crates of old Electronics, filled more than a dozen Shredding bins, a record amount of old Paint, hundreds of Used Tires and many litres of Used Oil! We are so proud of how our Community supports us each year at this event. A huge THANK YOU to all the volunteers - those up front working with us as well as those behind the scenes running the equipment. We couldn't do this without all of these people! |

Jim Marshall joins Saamis Rotary ClubAfter invitations spanning 30 years by Saamis member, Ralph Richardson, local artist/sculptor Jim Marshall was inducted as a member of the Saamis Rotary Club on July 4, 2013. He has often said that his start in the brick mural field was when the Saamis Rotary Club commissioned him to develop the mural at City Hall depicting the legend of how Medicine Hat was named. |

Saamis Rotary Recognizes Support from Ivan and Wendy KarsterOn January 10 2013, the Saamis Rotary Club recognized 12 years of support from Ivan and Wendy Karster of the Medicine Hat Harley Davison Shop. The level of support that Ivan and Wendy have provided - including help choosing popular, affordable bikes, selling tickets and moving the bike to ticket sales locations - has been a major contribution to the ongoing success of the raffle and to the Club's ability to continue making a difference to communities. |
2nd Harley Raffle Early Bird Draw
The second early bird draw was held at 4.00 on December 1 at the Canadian Tire store. The winner - John Kohut - of Drumheller - won $500 in Canadian Tire gift cards. The draw was made by Adam Turnbull, a store manager.

New Rotary Year Starts
Phyllis chaired her first meeting as President on July 8 and is off to a running start. The Club approved a new scholarship at the Medicine Hat College and has agreed to support the PACE Rotary Club's Movies at Kin Coulee in August.
