After a quiet winter season, the Saamis Rotary Club is gearing up for its annual community service, fund raising and fellowship activities.
The Club has started an annual "Spring Thaw" social, this year to be held on May 3. This is an opportunity to celebrate the end of winter and renew acquaintances with members who vacation in the south for the winter.
Second, the Club is preparing for the very successful E-waste roundup to be held May 10 at the Stampede Grounds. This project has received amazing support from the residents of Medicine Hat, the City, many businesses and community agencies. This year, for the first time, the club will be providing recycling for paints and hazardous household materials. Not only does the project have positive outcomes for the environment, the proceeds are used to support local community initiatives.
In May and June, the Club will begin planning this year's Harley Raffle. The kick-off for the raffle is the Santa Claus Toy run on the first weekend in September when the Club starts ticket sales and provides the BBQ. for the Toy Run participants.
On July 12, we take the opportunity to participate in the M&M Charity BBQ event.
