2010 E-Waste Roundup

The Saamis Rotary Club held it's 2nd E-Waste Round up on May 15 at the old Wal-Mart parking lot.

The people of Medicine Hat and area supported the roundup beginning at 7.30 a.m. and the last vehicle left the lot at 4.30. The club collected 109 tonnes of waste which exceeded last year's total of 89 tonnes. President-elect Phyllis, the Club's coordinator for the event, also marshalled a number of local agencies and stores to help out which resulted in proceeds from cell phones and ink cartridges being turned into support for local people and programs. The Club will invest the proceeds from the roundup in a local environmental program.
