Garth Brooks Tickets up for Auction!

July 12, 2012 - Garth Brooks will be at the Saddledome in Calgary, Alberta. I was able to purchase two tickets for this show from Ticketmaster.  Unfortunately, due to a conflict in a family priority came up and as much as I would love to see Garth Brooks live, I am unable to and my family takes priority on this one.

As I am a member of the Saamis Rotary Club, a service club that raises and donates money to local, national and international charities I am happy to auction the two tickets I have and donate the funds to the Saamis Rotary Club for use in these charities.

Rotary is the oldest service club in the world and its motto is “Service Above Self”.  In keeping with this motto I will be donating the price I paid for these tickets (face value of $62.00 each for a total of $124.00) to this cause. 

I have been in contact with Garth’s publicist and she has made Mr. Brooks aware of this fundraiser. The response to my email was the following:

“…the law currently reflects that after tickets are purchased they are private property and can be bought and sold as such...the only comment garth had when I told him about your plans  was, "thank you for what you said about the Vegas show and that your wife and you will be in his prayers..."

My goal for the 5 day auction was to raise at least $500.00. This goal was hit within the first two hours.  The local radio and newspaper and loads of Twitter and Facebook Friends have been very supportive!
