World Polio Day in Park RidgeThe Mayor of Park Ridge, Marty Maloney, presented Club President, Gayle Mountcastle, with a proclamation recognizing October 24, 2017 as World Polio Day in Park Ridge. Past Club Presidents Roger Crawford and Allan Bartel accepted the proclamation with President Mountcastle. World Polio Day is recognized around the world and raises awareness of the efforts of Rotary International, World Health Organization, US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, United Nations Children’s Fund, and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. 2016 Park Ridge Charity 5k Classic Run The Park Ridge Rotary Club ran the registration for the 2016 Park Ridge Charity 5k Classic Run. More than 325 runners participated in the event. The event generated over $6,500 to be given to various local charities.

The Harbour BBQA BBQ party was held for the young women of The Harbour on Wednesday June 1, 2016. 12 Rotarians served the young women and their staff a hearty meal followed by basketball.
The Harbour is a local nonprofit organization that provides emergency shelter, transitional housing and supportive services for homeless girls ages 12-21.

Park Ridge Charity Classic 5K RunThe Park Ridge Rotary Club sponsored the Park Ridge Charity 5K Run. Over 900 runners participated in the run which happened on a beautiful September morning. The proceeds of the event is used to pay for college scholarships and Sunday Suppers.

Avenues to Indepenence BBQThe Rotary Club of Park Ridge sponsored the “Avenues to Independence” Annual Surf's Up BBQ Party. Over 100 clients enjoyed the BBQ at the Avenues to Independence Work Center. The club helped with the cooking, distributing the meals and running some games. Everyone enjoyed the Samba dancing and having their picture taken in Ed’s jeep.
