The Rotary Club of Park Ridge, through a matching gift from Rotary District 6440, sent 100 high school students from the Cascades Region of southwest Burkina Faso into the 400 sq mile Comoe-Leraba Reserve on three day field trips.  The students, accompanied by their science teachers and professional conservationists, learned about the eco-system of the reserve and the importance of conservation of bio-diversity.  Our partners in Burkina Faso are the Rotary Club of Banfora and AGEREF/CL, an association of 17 villages practicing Community Based Natural Resource Management of the reserve.  Rich Darr, Park Ridge club member, grew up in that region of Africa and visits this project annually.ImageImage
