Camille Pietrow gave her personal talk. She is a 3
rd generation Japanese American and was born in Mountain View. She lived for 3 years in Japan, then grew up in Sacramento. She worked for HP. She has 2 adult children in San Diego. She joined Rotary to help give back for community service. Her new hobby is painting, and she is doing very well, having won awards, and sold some of her artwork. She also enjoys cooking, hiking and adventure traveling.

PP Rod Sinks and Steve LeFevre presented the information for the AOS pitch day for the Climate Action Committee. They discussed various projects including electrification, bike racks, food rescue. They highlighted 6 electrification projects that along with partners were valued at over $1M. They regularly have guest speakers at their meeting to learn more. President Alysa showed a new RI video on polio.

Cupertino Sister City members announced the upcoming Cherry Blossom festival on April 27th and 28th at Memorial Park. It’s a great time, so don’t miss it.

This week’s program was a service project to pack materials for Operation Care and Comfort for our troops overseas. It’s especially needed these days with so much going on in the world. Chuck Harper acted as MC for the event and introduced Julia Di Maria, from Operation Care and Comfort, who told us more about the project.
She told us that we have over 40,000 troops deployed just in the Middle East. The boxes we packed today mean everything to our deployed troops and help to bolster their morale. Check out some of the photos of us putting together the boxes (thanks to Alex) below
