There will be no noon meeting on April 24th, instead we are having a special evening meeting at Quinlan Center from 5:30-7:30 on April 24th. This is a registration event, so if you haven't already signed up do so now by clicking here.  Sign up now before the deadline passes. Terry Sturtevant announced the Workforce Development project with FUHSD adult schools on May 6-9 from 6-7PM to do mock interviews to help students prepare. Contact Terry to volunteer.
Wendell Stephens made a last call for Golf Affinity on April 18th.
Dolly Sandoval reminded everyone about the upcoming Golf Fundraiser and demonstrated how to sign up for golf, dinner and even bid on the auction items. If you are a golfer sign up now, there are still slots to play, if you aren’t a golfer, you can contact PP Steve to volunteer and sign up for the post golf dinner and auction items. Camille Pietrow gave her personal talk. She is a 3rd generation Japanese American and was born in Mountain View. She lived for 3 years in Japan, then grew up in Sacramento. She worked for HP. She has 2 adult children in San Diego. She joined Rotary to help give back for community service. Her new hobby is painting, and she is doing very well, having won awards, and sold some of her artwork. She also enjoys cooking, hiking and adventure traveling. PP Rod Sinks and Steve LeFevre presented the information for the AOS pitch day for the Climate Action Committee. They discussed various projects including electrification, bike racks, food rescue. They highlighted 6 electrification projects that along with partners were valued at over $1M.  They regularly have guest speakers at their meeting to learn more. President Alysa showed a new RI video on polio. You can see it here. She also described how to join the district 5170 Polio Plus society. Just donate $100 to Polio this year and every year until we are polio free. You will receive a special pin and certificate. Contact her for details. She also reminded everyone to sign up for the Polio walk on April 28th. Contact Doreen Cohen to pay your $25 (or more) and you don’t even have to walk. PP Steve Rudd will walk for you.
Cupertino Sister City members announced the upcoming Cherry Blossom festival on April 27th and 28th at Memorial Park.  It’s a great time, so don’t miss it.

President Alysa thanked this week’s team and showed Happy Snaps from Dinner at the Shelter, FUHSD Earth Day and the prework at the Rebuilding site.  Rotarians are everywhere.
This week’s program was a service project to pack materials for Operation Care and Comfort for our troops overseas. It’s especially needed these days with so much going on in the world. Chuck Harper acted as MC for the event and introduced Julia Di Maria, from Operation Care and Comfort, who told us more about the project.

She told us that we have over 40,000 troops deployed just in the Middle East. The boxes we packed today mean everything to our deployed troops and help to bolster their morale. Check out some of the photos of us putting together the boxes (thanks to Alex) below and see them all by clicking here.
