Everyone knows greens are good for you. Not only are they good for your health - the Club's recent Brassica competition encouraged local farmers to grow the best Brassica crop they could with the producer of the best crop in each category recognised with an award given by the Club.
The awards ceremony was a great followship occasion, and raised funds for community projects. About 250 people joined us for the Awards ceremony which raised around $50,000 which the Club will use to support a variety of charities in our area.
This project has generated intense competition between the local farmers, with great interest in un-seating earlier champions. The awards ceremony is a great occasion, and has become a much anticipated event in the farming community.
In 2017 the proceeds were donated to the Rescue Helicopter and the Berwick Youth Camp. The 2018 competition is due to close in the next few weeks.
