Action Plan
This is Rotary’s plan for the next five years: to increase our impact, expand our reach, enhance participant engagement, and increase our ability to adapt
After reading and exploring the My Rotary website, I was able to list below a summary of what the Action Plan is and how we can practise the four points.
Increase Our Impact
Seek out new ways to translate our expertise into making a difference—in our communities and across the globe. Let’s prove that our impact on the world has only just begun.
Expand Our Reach
Build connections and opportunities that will allow people who share our drive to do the same.
Enhance Participant Engagement
Recommit to putting the needs, expectations, and growth of our participants at the centre of all we do.
Increase Our Ability to Adapt
Stay true to ourselves and stay ahead of change in our next 115 years.

I came across this quote in Facebook and I wanted to share with you.

Goodnight Friends
Day is over, night
has come. Today is
gone, what’s done is
done. Embrace your
dreams, through the
night. Tomorrow
comes with a whole
new light!

BOOK SALE DETAILS.
Book sale all go at Level 2
4th 5th 6th September
Roster of duties sent by separate email.
We will be holding our first ever covid level 2 book sale this year. It is very do-able with a few minor changes.

Entry and exit - max numbers allowed in will be 100 at a time. People need to use the QR code or sign in.  The main doors into the venue will be entrance only. Check out and exit will be via the door to the rear carpark.

Check outs - On Friday we will have 3 check outs operating 1 for cash and 2 for EFTPOS. We will review this over the weekend opening and closing check outs as needed.  Counters will be wiped down with spray sanitiser regularly

Sanitiser - we will have hand sanitiser at a number of locations round the room. Checkout operators to sanitise after each transaction or wear gloves.

Social distancing  - arrows will be put on the carpet to denote direction in the aisles this will allow us to meet the distancing rules. Because we have sign in systems and contact tracing, our distances need to be at least a metre, the 2 metres distancing is for outside, or where there is no contact tracing

Anyone who is sick stay home.

Sausages etc - We will not be selling food or drinks this year. There will be lunch available for our team on Friday and Saturday, please stay out of the kitchen and ask at the servery if you need anything.

Minimalising handling - We will ask people to bring their own shopping bags and will charge $20 a bag for books rather than handling every book.
We will also work on an honesty system and take people's word for how many books they have. Except dealers which we will still count.

Masks & Gloves  - members may choose to wear masks but it is not compulsory. BYO mask. Gloves will be available for the team use. Most of all remember to wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds, cough into your elbow and think about what you are doing at all times.
Are we getting scruffy?
MATTER FOR DISCUSSION AND DEBATE?
What  has happened to any personal pride in being a Rotarian from a dress sense point of view. Last night at Rotary one of our members asked "why don't the men in our club wear a tie any longer." I said "some do." It was so good to see Don Murray who was nicely dressed last night congratulations Don,  we were impressed. The older members of the club endeavour to keep standards by wearing a tie, and other members who from time to time come in tidy gear, is great.. It seems any member who does come 'tidy like' gets a comment or two when it should be the 'scruffy buggers' who should be fined, then we might get the standard to improve instead having a competition as to how scruffy our members can get. Being casually dressed is fine at casual functions or the middle of summer but Rotary always had a formality at meetings, and members dressed appropriately. We just have to look at our senior sports clubs and how tidy they look when they get dressed and out as a team. Their coach knows that tidy dress goes with discipline and it improves on field performance. Should we as a club regain some pride in how we appear to our visitors?
Something to make you smile

On the lighter side: -Two men were stopped by a TV newswoman doing street interviews about the upcoming election. "I'm not voting for any of the candidates." The first man said. "I don't know any of them."  " I feel the same way," the second man said. " Only I know them all."
