Register here. Salvation Army bell ringing is a tradition of The Rotary Club of Rochester! Thank you for you interest. Many times, we are the nonprofit with the largest number of volunteer hours for this activity. "When you volunteer to bell ring, you help improve, and even save lives. The money dropped in a red kettle goes right back into your local community. By now you’ve likely heard that two hours of your time at a Salvation Army red kettle raises about $60 in donations." Nov 30, 2017 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM
ROTATION DAY - November 30 Please register to participate by Thursday, November 16.
What Happens on Rotation Day? Members may be assigned as an attendee or offer to host at a location where you do business or enjoy a special interest (i.e. a workshop, garden, etc.). Rotation Day goes back to the early days of Rotary when Rotarians rotated their meeting site each week. It gives you the opportunity to enjoy fellowship in a smaller group and to find out about your host's vocation/interest. What is the Host's Responsibility?
Hosts sign up and give the number of members they would like to accommodate for lunch. This can vary from a minimum of six to whatever number you are able to accommodate. Hosts are given a list of members, invite their guests, give directions, etc. Hosts order lunches for all attendees. Members have already paid for their Rotation Day lunches with their dues, so the host simply submits a billing to the Rotary office for lunches. During the meeting time, 11:30-1:00 pm, members introduce themselves, and the hosts tell about their occupation. Some may provide a tour of their facilities. Hosts take attendance and turn it into the Rotary office. What Do Those Attending Do?
Guests wait for an invitation by email or phone from your host. Please respond to the host to confirm that you are attending and arrive promptly at 11:30 pm on Rotation Day to enjoy the event! |

The spring Conference of Clubs (formerly known as the District Conference) will be held on Thursday and Friday, April 19-20, at the new Mystic Conference Center, part of the Mystic Lake Hotel and Casino complex, in Prior Lake. See attached brochure for more information on what is planned.
We have a spectacular line-up planned, including "Food & Friendship" with Prior Lake Rotarians hosting attendees at their home for dinner. More than 20 breakout sessions are already identified. Fabulous speakers throughout Friday. Meal and registration pricing is now being finalized.
- Volunteer commitments -- we're looking to fill key spots by mid-December, including a number of committee chairs related to the event. Our next planning meeting will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 28, beginning at 2 p.m. at the District Office. Join us! - Sponsorships -- we expect 350-400 attendees at the Conference of Club. What a great way to market your business in front of key decision-makers throughout the Twin Cities area, southern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Contact Laurie Hartmann if interested, 612-867-3504. - Photos -- a primary focus of the conference will be showcasing the good works that are being done throughout the district. We would like each club to submit at least one photo that features a service project or major club initiative. Send your jpg to kathy.hughitt@rotary5960. |

This event has been postponed. More information will be provided when it becomes available. Ian Riseley, RI President, set a goal for clubs to focus on the environment. The challenge to all Rotary clubs worldwide is to plant a tree for each Rotarian in their club. To meet this challenge, the three Rochester Rotary Clubs decided to embark on a joint project to plant 300+ trees in the Rochester area. We are partnering with RNeighbors, in cooperation with the Forester and citizen foresters, in the 2018 tree planting efforts. There will be two tree planting events. The first event will be Monday, April 23, 5-7 pm at Bear Creek Park Shelter Area, (1237 Marion Road SE), and the second event will be Saturday, April 28, 8:30-11:30 am at Apple Hill Neighborhood, starting on Apple Ridge Blvd SW (between Haralson & Regent Lanes). Plan to participate in one or both tree planting events. We Need Your Support! Please support the Rotary Tree Planting Challenge in one or both of the following ways.
