Thank you for your interest in The Rotary Club of Rochester. We meet weekly on Thursdays. On the first Thursday of each month, we meet in the evening for a purely social event. On the second, fourth, and fifth Thursdays, our members enjoy a Midday Meeting with a buffet lunch, a short business meeting and a 30 minute program. Our club prides itself in the excellent programming. On the third Thursday, members are invited to meet at noon in smaller groups in several locations or join us online for a shared online meeting.

Besides our weekly meetings, we offer service opportunities in which many of our members choose to participate. The Rotary motto is “Service Above Self,” and there is quite a variety of service opportunities from which to choose. Participation is voluntary. Members can choose to volunteer alongside other Rotarians at local organizations such as Channel One food bank, Salvation Army, Quarry Hill Nature Center, the local high schools, etc. The club also supports Rotary's international service projects and international exchange opportunities. It's like a potpourri of service which allows Rotarians to work with many different organizations without having to dedicate their time to just one or two.

The club holds a few social events throughout the year. We never ask our members to sell things but instead raise dollars within our club. The size of our membership allows us to do this. We have approximately 135 members on our roster.

Membership in Rotary is by invitation. Anyone interested in becoming a member of Rotary is "proposed" for membership by a Rotary sponsor. This is typically a current Rotarian who the prospective member knows. If you are interested in becoming a member and do not know a current Rotarian who could be your sponsor, we can ask one of our members to host you at a few of our meetings so we can get to know you and then propose you for membership into our club. All membership proposals are reviewed by our club's board of directors.

If you would like to join us at a meeting, please feel free to do so. No reservation is necessary. When you arrive, please ask for our Administrative Director or President, and they will introduce you to one of our members to host you so you can ask questions and learn more about Rotary and our club. Our weekly meeting location is posted on the calendar on our website:  https://portal.clubrunner.ca/5636/events/calendar.
