The signs are located on RT 9 northbound (from Fishkill into Wappinger) and RT 9 southbound (from Poughkeepsie into Wappinger) - two major entry points into our community. Both sites now feature freshly painted signage, new Rotary Club emblems, and a touch of landscaping with mulch to brighten up the entrances. A big thank you to Town Supervisor Joseph D. Wappingers Falls, NY — The Rotary Club of Wappingers Falls is proud to announce that four outstanding students from Roy C. Ketcham High School have been selected to attend this year’s Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Conference.
RYLA is a premier leadership training program coordinated by Rotary clubs across the globe. Each year, Rotary District 7210 brings together high school sophomores from across the Hudson Valley for a multi-day leadership experience. The program includes team-building exercises, workshops, and guest speakers—all designed to help students develop essential leadership skills, self-confidence, and a spirit of service.
This year’s selected students from Roy C. Ketcham exemplify strong character, academic achievement, and a passion for making a difference in their school and community. The Rotary Club of Wappingers Falls is proud to support their growth as future leaders and ambassadors of Rotary’s values of Service Above Self.
“Our club has long supported the RYLA program because we know how transformative it can be for young leaders,” said Club President/RYLA Chair Todd Bowen. “We’re excited for these students to bring their new skills back to our community.”

Posted by the Town: The Town of Wappinger is proud to announce a landmark partnership with the Rotary Club of Wappingers Falls, marking the first collaboration between the two organizations in over 30 years! At the heart of this collaboration is the long-overdue renovation of the Town of Wappinger War Memorial, located at Brexel-Schlathaus Park. The memorial, a solemn tribute to the Town’s brave veterans who served and sacrificed in defense of our nation, will undergo its first major capital improvements in over three decades. Planned improvements include the removal of the deteriorating and sinking patio base, installation of a modern drainage system, re-leveling of the area, and the placement of new landscape patio bricks to ensure long-term durability and aesthetic appeal. This restoration project is funded in part by the Town of Wappinger War Memorial Trust, established by Bill and Helen Parsons to preserve the integrity and dignity of the memorial site. More information about this project will be released in the coming weeks, including additional Park enhancements for veterans as well as opportunities for community engagement and involvement! This December has been one for the books! The Rotary Club of Wappingers Falls embraced the season of giving with a series of impactful activities:  Supporting Habitat for Humanity: We decorated a Christmas tree that was auctioned off for $70 to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess County.  Adopting Families: Club members went shopping to provide for 9 families in the Wappingers Central School District Spreading Cheer: Hosted a holiday lunch for the senior residents of Lower DiMarco Place and sang Christmas carols to lift their spirits.  Promoting Literacy: Handed out over 200 dictionaries to students at 3 local elementary schools.  Combating Hunger: Partnered with the Town of Wappinger Parks and Recreation for a food drive, benefiting St. Mary’s and Bethel Missionary Church food pantries.  Supporting Veterans: Purchased 20 sweatshirts and sweatpants for veterans at Liberty Station in Poughkeepsie.  Honoring Students: Hosted December Students of the Month, celebrating outstanding students from Roy C. Ketcham High School, Wappingers Junior High School, Evans, Sheafe, and Myers Elementary Schools.  Gratitude from Meals-on-Wheels of Wappingers Falls: Several Rotarians were acknowledged by Meals on Wheels Board Member Sue Bennett for going above and beyond in delivering meals all year. We’re grateful for the opportunity to give back and make a difference this holiday season. Here’s to continuing the spirit of service in the New Year!

This year, the Rotary Club of Wappingers Falls is thrilled to spread the spirit of giving by adopting 9 families in the Wappingers Central School District for the holidays! With three families each from Evans, Sheafe, and Myers Corners Elementary Schools, our Rotarians came together to shop for essential food items. Each Rotarian in the club also purchased a gift or gift card for the children in these families. We’re proud to serve our community and brighten the season for those in need. A big thank you to all our members for their generosity and commitment to making a difference.

Today, Rotarians Todd Bowen, Bill Halvey and Jessica Miuccio visited Old Navy to shop for 20 sweatshirts and 20 sweatpants for Veterans at Liberty Station in Poughkeepsie. Liberty Station offers Housing and Care Management for Veterans in the company of other veterans. A heartfelt thank you to Old Navy Store Manager Jay and Assistant General Manager Mary for their incredible assistance and support of our initiative. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the kind customer who generously purchased a sweatshirt to donate to our project. Your thoughtfulness makes a real difference! Together, we’re showing our Veterans the appreciation and care they deserve especially during the holiday season.
