Inspiring our Youth, Building our Future.

Today a new board takes the reigns of this great and storied organization. I am excited and optimistic about the year that lies ahead of us.

My administration's theme is "Inspiring our Youth, Building our Future!" Our focus will be on engaging our New Generation members to be an integral and crucial part of the Rotary Club of West Nassau experience.

With a young and energetic board, we want to have an impact on the community which we serve as counsellors, advisors and mentors - growing the next generation of Rotarians in the process.

We count on your support as members of this great club. Through our combined efforts in the coming year, we will be a true example of "Rotary: Making a Difference".

Yours in Rotary,

Christopher Dorsett
President 2017/2018

Within the 52 men that comprise the Rotary Club of West Nassau, the ideal of service above self is imbedded in our hearts, and with a great sense of pride we continue to seek out avenues to assist as many of the worthy organizations and community programs as we could.

We proudly opened the year with a breakfast at the Persis Rodgers Home, then held our 3rd back to school fun day for the children of the Gambier Community. Coupled with the numerous donations, participation in annual events, Road to Peace, creating an Early-Act club at Eva Hilton and relaunching of the Interact Club at H.O. Nash, the Rotary Club of West Nassau has been on the move.

The year has presented many challenges especially with the devastation caused by Hurricane Matthew, There were personal challenges which saw me as president unable to undertake all of my responsibilities.

In both instances the spirit of Rotary was alive and well as our members sought to come together in a common cause. With our new additions we are building for the future.

As PE Christopher Dorsett prepares to assume the mantle, I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all of the members of the Rotary Club of West Nassau for helping to make this a most memorable and enjoyable year.

To our Rotaract Club at the University of the Bahamas I extend a special thanks for your tireless efforts and participation in all our events.

Joining Rotary all those years ago has turned out to be one of the most rewarding activities I undertake in my personal life.

From childhood I can recall watching my father leave at noon on a Friday headed to Flagler Inn for his weekly meeting. Once or twice a year I got to go when children were allowed and thus the fire was ignited.

Serving as president was a most rewarding and humbling experience. My deepest thanks for the opportunity to serve this great Club as President.

Yours in Rotary,
President - Craig Butler 2016/2017
