On Thursday 22nd February, the Rotary Club of West Nassau (RCWN) welcomed one of their own to present to them.
Dr. Marvin Smith presented on the Case for Medicinal Use of Marijuana.
Members were educated on the pros and cons of the plant and the benefits which may inure from The Bahamas promoting further research into its properties.
By no means did Dr. Smith endorse or sanction the usage of the substance outright. Rather he promotes scientific and informed research in order to make an informed decision about marijuana.
Members of the West Club listened attentively and asked many questions at the end of the presentation. After the meeting, Dr. Smith was mobbed by the press to expand on the views expressed during his speech.
