Hope that you have enjoyed our 14th Annual Markham Rotary Ribfest at Downtown Markham!  We would like to thank the whole community for the tremendous participation and support, the Ribbers for the fantastic BBQ, our volunteers, our supliers, our teams of organizers at Rotary Club of Markham Sunshine, and the help from members of Rotary Clubs of Markham-Unionville, Scarborough and Scarborough North.
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Join us at our annual signature fundraising event, "The 14 th Annual Markham Rotary Ribfest"! 3 days of festivities in glorious sunshine, great food by awarding winning ribbers, ice cold craft beer and great music entertainment by local bands. Our 2017 Charity of Choice for local community serice is "360 Kids" in support of homeless youth!

Join us for our Markham Rotary May Day Social on May 1, 6:00pm at Marca On Main, 96 Main Street North, Markham. A joint social evening of Markham Sunrise and Markham-Unionville clubs, potential new members welcome!
On April 19, our Club presented a cheque for Polio Plus, with Dr. Raffy Chouljian and Jennifer Boyd, who climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro to raise over $500,000 to help Rotary International eradicate polio.
 
 
A warm welcome to our newest member, Gail Isted was inducted into the Rotary Club of Markham Sunrise on Wed. Jan. 4 by President Paul Dunderas and Membership Chair Susan Peterson.
 
A cheque presentation was held on Wed. Jan. 18, 2017 to "360 Kids".  Thanks to the fundraising efforts by Rotarian Heidi Chiu, at our Go Girl charity day at the gym fundraising event on Dec. 17, 2016!

Five years since its debut, Rotary Club Central is getting a big upgrade
When we introduced Rotary Club Central in 2012, it revolutionized goal tracking and planning for clubs and districts — no more filling out paper club-planning forms or passing along boxes of historical club information every time a new leader took office. Rotary International Board adopts new zone structure
At its January 2017 meeting, the Rotary International Board of Directors adopted a new zone structure for Rotary clubs. Rotary bylaws require the Board to complete a comprehensive review of the 34 Rotary zones no less often than every eight years to ensure that each zone has an approximately equal number of Rotarians. The Board’s previous review of the zones occurred in 2008. Centennial celebration honors 20 noteworthy global grant projects
Through The Rotary Foundation, Rotary members have supported thousands of projects that promote peace, fight disease, provide clean water, save mothers and children, support education, and grow local economies. We’ve also led the fight to eradicate polio worldwide. As part of our celebration of the Foundation’s centennial, we’re honoring 20 global grant projects with special recognition.
