The Rotary Club of Markham Sunrise has been bringing positive change to our community for over 25 years through supporting numerous charitable activities, initiatives and events that aim to uplift and enhance the quality of life for Markham's residents. Click Here for more info on our club.
Fundraiser
We are thrilled to announce our fourth annual Comedy Night on Friday September 25, 2026 featuring comedians from Yuk Yuks (Min Age 19). Doors open 6.30pm, event begins at 7.30pm. The event is destined to be a night filled with laughter and memorable performances while raising funds to support the Salvation Army Markham at 136 Main Street North in Markham Village.
The Salvation Army Markham as part of the Salvation Army in Canada, provides programming, supports and referrals to the Markham and Stouffville communities. Initiatives support seniors, youth and low-income families. The focus is to meet human need in practical, relational ways, focusing especially on needs not already met by other agencies - for example, senior isolation, newcomer integration, youth support, and seasonal family support. Services are provided free of charge and are open to all without discrimination.
Proceeds meet practical needs in Markham and Stouffville through programs like the Coffee House Café, Rise & Thrive seniors' program, YRP Holiday Heroes campaign and Weekly Meal. Each program seeks to build a community and provide a safe place for conversation and belonging.
While the fundraiser will support all programs, we will focus on raising funds to support a weekly Sunday evening shared meal called The Table. The Table is simple, relational, and community-driven meal and is a place where newcomers and community members can feel at home and find community.

Making A Donation
To make a donation instead of or in addition to buying tickets , please visit the ticket page and enter the amount you wish to donate. Note that you will not get a Canadian tax receipt for ticket purchases but you will for any amount donated.
Sponsorship
Headline Sponsor - We are looking for a headline sponsor who is prepared to donate $1000 - tax receipt provided.
In return, you will get:
- A table near the door to field enquiries
- A 1 minute speaking pitch to the room before the comedy starts
Table Sponsor - for $200, you get to have signage and collateral on a single table.
The Comedians
Headliner - Nick Beaton- Nick Beaton has performed globally, including in London, Dubai, and Johannesburg. He has participated in prestigious events such as Just for Laughs, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Halifax Comedy Festival, and Winnipeg Comedy Festival. He has written for television, including “Spun Out” starring Dave Foley. His blend of political and social commentary, combined with sharp jokes, has made him a favourite wherever he has performed
MC - Bryan Hatt- Nearly two decades in the business have transformed Bryan into one of the best acts in the country. Bryan has filmed a "Comedy Now" for the Comedy Network, appeared at the Halifax & Winnipeg Comedy Festivals, was a finalist in the Great Canadian Laugh Off, and has opened for legends like Gilbert Godfried, Harland Williams, Big Jay Oakerson, and more! He’ll make you laugh and feel thinner all at once!
Featuring - Jordan Policicchio - Originally from Sault Ste Marie, Jordan Policicchio is a multi-talented comedian, actor and podcast host who brings an electrifying energy to each performance. He can be described as “frustrated with the world” as he takes you through his childhood, marriage and hilarious stories about his life. Jordan’s been featured at JFL 42 and the Haymaker Comedy Festival.
