Tucked away between Red Lion and Dallastown, we learned about this church that recently celebrated 150 years, as well as learned about the village of Adamsville from long-time resident Nancy. Nancy shared how the village used to be with hotels, one one-room schoolhouse, cigar factories, a barbershop, and even a Centennial Barn that was used for weddings and parties. Our members listened in awe of what this tiny village once held within it. Thank you, Nancy Amspacher and Adamsville UMC, for hosting us and filling us in on the history of this horseshoe-shaped village. |

Rotary Bench PlacedOur First Week Field Trip for September took us to the Red Lion Mile to see the bench that former member, Michael Chrzanowski, and current member, Ki Groh, helped to place. The project is being lead by Chrzanowski and Groh along with Red Liob Borough as an effort of collecting trash and exchanging it for a bench. 1,000 lbs of trash needs to be collected and then traded in order to have the bench made by a company affiliated with TREX® . Red Lion Borough then places a plaque on the bench and installs the bench within the Borough. At this point the Rotary Club of Red Lion-Dallastown has the first of eight projected benches to be placed along the Red Lion Mile. If you would like to have a bench program for your Town or Borough, reach out to Ki Groh or Michael Chrzanowski for more information. |
