At our field trip this week, we visited Adamsville UMC. Tucked away between Red Lion and Dallastown, we learned about this church that recently celebrated 150 years, as well as learned about the village of Adamsville from long-time resident Nancy. Nancy has been attending Adamsville UMC for over 70 years, and recently celebrated her 92nd birthday! Nancy shared how the village used to be with hotels, one one-room schoolhouse, cigar factories, a barbershop, and even a Centennial Barn that was used for weddings and parties.
Our members listened in awe of what this tiny village once held within it. Thank you, Nancy Amspacher and Adamsville UMC, for hosting us and filling us in on the history of this horseshoe-shaped village.
