Santa Fe Trail Rotary Club Members in Action at the Mahaffie House Wickets Tournament

 

Steve Hougland and Wayne Janner represented our  Club at the annual Mahaffie House Wickets Tournament. The Sunflower Wickets Croquet Tournament and the annual Omelet Fest are fantastic examples of community involvement! Supporting the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm Historic Site directly helps preserve local history, enhance educational exhibits, and maintain public programming in Olathe. Having dedicated members step up for events like the croquet tournament and cooking for the fall breakfast showcase true service above self. 

 

 

Our club is volunteering to package and serve community meals at The Center of Grace Church (Google Map Linked**).

 

At the INDOOR EVENT, meals are distributed to folks as they sit in a dining area.

Date for the indoor event is WED, MAR 12th at 5:00PM

 

At the CURB SERVICE event, meals are distributed to folks as they drive through the parking lot.

Dates for the curb service are (1) THU MAR 20th & (2) THU APR 17th both dates at 4:30PM

Join The Santa Fe Trail Rotary Club for the 24th annual Omelet Breakfast event on Saturday, October 5th from 7:30 - 10:00AM at The Mahaffie Heritage Center in Olathe, Kansas. 

These are our upcoming speakers for the month of July. 

The 2023 annual Omelet Fest was a great success for the Santa Fe Rotary Trail team! During the October event, Rotarians gather in support of the local community and fire up their portable ovens at the Mahaffie Stagecoach and Stop Farm. The afternoon prior to the event, the team gathers to prep the event space and food in anticipation of the morning’s festivities. Here, greetings are shared as the team cracks eggs, chops veggies, and enjoys one another’s company while doing good for the community and beyond. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming involved in Rotary, please be sure to check out our website and learn more about joining a local group and get involved in supporting your local community. On June 29, 2023, SFTRC members and guests celebrated the end of our Rotary year and our Club's 25th anniversary. Club members enjoy a meal catered by Johnny's Bar-B-Q. Later, Club President Howard Cripe presented the program and recognized several members for their service.

 

 

 

 

 

The Santa Fe Trail Rotary group looks forward to the newest addition of the Mid-America Nazarene Campus being a few weeks from complete. The construction is set to end during the week of March 21st.

During a recent meeting, Heartstring's representatives, Jonathan & Derrick deliver goodies to the Santa Fe Rotary Club from the goody cart.  Ryan is a Cart Master at Heartstrings & has participated in the Heartstrings program for several years now.  The Rotary group was very excited to partake in the goodies & to learn more about the Heartstrings program in Olathe, KS.

Whenever there is a fifth Thursday in a month, our club meets for a social.

In September, we met at the Ensor Museum for a potluck and a tour of the museum.

It was an enjoyable and informative evening. 

 

 

On January 30, we will host a social at the new Indian Creek Library from 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.  All members, guests, friends of the club and any other interested folks are invited to join us for some good food and fellowship. There will be no meeting on the morning of January 30.

On January 14, our club will gather at Heart to Heart's Lenexa facility (11550 Renner Road in Lenexa) to assemble health kits for distribution during Heart to Heart natural disaster responses. On October 12 at the Mahaffie Farmstead Heritage Center, the Club will host our annual Omelet Fest fundraiser.  We will be preparing fresh omelets from 7:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. for all comers.  Tickets are available from Club members and at the door for a donation of $8.00. The address of the Heritage Center is 1200 E. Kansas City Road, Olathe, 66061.
