The Sunflower Wickets Croquet Tournament and the annual Omelet Fest are fantastic examples of community involvement! Supporting the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm Historic Site directly helps preserve local history, enhance educational exhibits, and maintain public programming in Olathe. Having dedicated members step up for events like the croquet tournament and cooking for the fall breakfast showcase true service above self.

The 2023 annual Omelet Fest was a great success for the Santa Fe Rotary Trail team! During the October event, Rotarians gather in support of the local community and fire up their portable ovens at the Mahaffie Stagecoach and Stop Farm. The afternoon prior to the event, the team gathers to prep the event space and food in anticipation of the morning’s festivities. Here, greetings are shared as the team cracks eggs, chops veggies, and enjoys one another’s company while doing good for the community and beyond. If you or someone you know is interested in becoming involved in Rotary, please be sure to check out our website and learn more about joining a local group and get involved in supporting your local community. If you are in the Olathe or surrounding area nearby, be sure to reach out to one of our group leaders (listed on the website) for more information on joining our team. We are looking forward to another great Omelet Fest event next year!

2019 Grants
Posted by Jim Lammle on Aug 08, 2019
2019-2020 Grants In July, our Club approved the following three grants for 2019-2020: 1. Using discretionary funds, we authorized a $500 Grant to Washington Elementary School to help with the construction cost of a new playground for K-3 and developmentally disabled children. The Grant is in honor of our long-time member, Nancy Ellis, who has volunteered for many years at Washington Elementary. 2. Using District funds with a Club match, we authorized a $1400 Grant to the Center of Grace weekly dinners. The money will provide food for about 250 for 4 sessions and the Club will provide servers at those sessions. 3. Also using district Funds with a Club match, we authorized a $1400 Grant to Heart to Heart International to fund health kits. Club members will gather at a date to be determined to help assemble those kits.
