Are you up for the Challenge? Are you coming to support our “Days for Girls” service activity? Are you bringing someone who wants to know about Rotary?
If you answered yes to these questions, then we are going to have a great night as we join forces with the Rotary Club of Eastwood at 6pm on Wednesday 6th June at The Royal Coach, Dequetteville Tce., Kent Town. We will start with substantial savouries and drinks and then move into The Adelaide Room where from 7pm – 8.30pm we will work at tables and assist Days for Girls in the packing of kits to be sent overseas: whilst also learning about this project and the amazing difference it make to females lives in underdeveloped countries. Be prepared to be impressed!
For Rotarians the cost is $20 and your partners and friends are free. This is also in place of our meeting on Thurs 7 June.

This year our Club sponsored Adelaide City Rotaractor, Gregory White, to attend the two day Rotary Learning Institute Course which was run two weekends ago. Gregory will speak of his experience at this week’s club meeting and I hope this will inspire Adelaide Light Rotarians to think about nominating to attend themselves in 2019.

Chairman: Meet/greet speaker for the meeting; introduce and thank speaker. Preparation:- find details about the speaker prior to the meeting. Attendance: Set up reception table (attendance sheet; members list – re -payments; guest welcome sheet; money; wine raffle sheet); register member payments/ apologies/ guests. Hosting: Set up name badges display; welcome all at the door; ensure speaker and guests are introduced to appropriatepersons. Furniture: Flags; banner display; raffle balls; collection boxes; Rotary theme banner; gong and hammer; lectern position before and returned after the meeting. Computerset up – Connect to projector. Switch on. Hold function key & press F5 twice. Bottles/cans: Collect bags of bottles/cans at meeting and take to recycle centre for refund, pass refund and empty bags to David Rowe at next meeting. Rotaract: Meets alternate Mondays at 6pm (for a 630pm start) at the General HavelockHotel in Hutt Street. Bread: Sundays, meet outside Romeo's, North Adelaide at 4:55pm

There standing in front of a big puddle outside the pub was an old man, drenched, holding a stick, with a piece of string dangling in the water.
A passer-by stopped and asked, "What are you doing?"
"Fishing" replied the old man.
Feeling sorry for the old man, the gent says, "Come in out of the rain and have a drink with me."
In the warmth of the pub, as they sip their whiskies, the gentleman, being a bit of a "smartie pants", cannot resist asking, "So how many have you caught today?"
