I hope that you all had a lovely weekend and managed to partake of some of the many activities in Adelaide.
Last week we had a planning meeting and covered many issues. We have tentatively set Dec 17th for our Christmas party and Nov 26th for ur AGM so please keep those dates in your diaries, more details soon.
We realised that we probably have too many project ideas and need to consolidate into a few projects, especially with the excellent fundraising bbq activities that Terry is organising every weekend. We will contact Adelaide High School to see if there are any mutually beneficial projects to work on. This week is a Group 1 President's meeting and we will discuss the possibility of working together on a Catherine House project. We spoke about the possibility of having an evening meeting once every 2 months (with partners) and will explore this. Ideas for vocational visits include Adelaide Oval (with super tour guide Dean) and the SA Police Academy at Taoeroo.
This week I am interstate and Andrew Black will be in the President's chair.
Please note that the 2015 Rotary Roundtable will be on Sunday November 15 from 9.30 am to 3.30 pm. Venue to be advised. Rotary Club of Adelaide Light Mission Statement
To be recognised as the Service Club of Choice in the Eastern Precinct of Adelaide because we are a Friendly Breakfast Club that appeals to a broad range of busy people who want to make a difference to local and international communities.
Why does Superman stop bullets with his chest, but ducks when you throw a revolver at him?
Whose cruel idea was it to put an "s" in the word "lisp"?
If people evolved from apes, why are there still apes?
Why is it that, no matter what colour bubble bath you use, the bubbles are always white?
Is there ever a day that mattresses are not on sale?
Why do people constantly return to the refrigerator with hopes that something new to eat will have materialized?
Why do people run over a string a dozen times with their vacuum cleaner, then reach down, pick it up, examine it and then put it down to give the vacuum one more chance?
How do those dead bugs get into the enclosed light fixtures?
Why is it that whenever you attempt to catch something that's falling off the table you always manage to knock something else over?
Why, in winter, do we try to keep the house as warm as it was in summer when we complained about the heat?
