A very successful breakfast meeting was conducted at the Ibis last Thursday in a smaller room, which we have been assured will not occur again.
We had four Rotaractors, Katey, Kirsti, Karagh and Gregory plus Margie Steffens, Andy and Christine (newly arrived from South Africa) as guests which was marvellous.
Katey Halliday was able to give us an overview of the new proposed joint Catherine House garden makeover project being suggested. The Rotaract Club can contribute $2000 and our Board have pledged up to $3000, if required.
After breakfast Fred Field and myself had coffee with Margie, Andy and Christine where we attempted to give them a brief history of Adel. Light and a description of how the club works and how they could be involved. Margie has filled out an application form to join us.
Yesterday, Sat., John C.,Yvette, Liz, Angus and myself collected $600 for parking cars at John's old work address on Fullarton Road . The hot weather definitely had an adverse effect on the crowd which I believe was down approximately 12,000 on last year. Today, Sunday is cooler and the team of John C., Julie C, Di, Fred and John W. parked more cars, collecting $700.
Tomorrow, Monday, I am going to clear out the club's belongings from the Royal Coach and store them at home in the short term.
This coming Thursday, 7th. March will be our last meeting at the Royal Coach where we will be meeting in the restaurant as they have a paying function in the Board Room. Our guest speakers will be the two science students who are bringing one parent each.
For the benefit of members, we will aim to give the Duty Roster a few weeks ahead - see below.

Chairman: Meet/greet speaker for the meeting; introduce and thank speaker. Preparation:- find details about the speaker prior to the meeting. Attendance: Set up reception table (attendance sheet; members list – re -payments; guest welcome sheet; money; wine raffle sheet); register member payments/ apologies/ guests. Hosting: Set up name badges display; welcome all at the door; ensure speaker and guests are introduced to appropriatepersons. Furniture: Flags; banner display; raffle balls; collection boxes; Rotary theme banner; gong and hammer; lectern position before and returned after the meeting. Computerset up – Connect to projector. Switch on. Hold function key & press F5 twice. Bottles/cans: Collect bags of bottles/cans at meeting and take to recycle centre for refund, pass refund and empty bags to David Rowe at next meeting. Rotaract: Meets alternate Mondays at 6pm (for a 630pm start) at the General HavelockHotel in Hutt Street. Bread: Sundays, meet outside Romeo's, North Adelaide at 4:55pm
